NAAMII at the AI-Sarosh Confluence in Singapore

NAAMII’s TOGAI Lab participated in the AI-Sarosh Confluence, held from 19–21 January 2026 in Singapore, presenting ongoing research on AI-powered task-shifting for high-quality fetal ultrasound services in community healthcare settings.

Representing NAAMII, Bishesh Khanal (Principal Investigator), Dr. Pradeep Raj Regmi (Co-Principal Investigator, TUTH), and Bishram Acharya (Research Associate) shared research progress with global experts working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and healthcare.

The presentation highlighted how responsibly designed AI systems can support nurses and community health workers in the early detection of pregnancy complications, strengthening frontline healthcare delivery and addressing maternal health challenges in rural and resource-constrained settings.

The team also shared updates on data collection and multi-task model performance, contributing to evidence-based discussions on the role of AI in strengthening health systems. The confluence provided a platform for collaboration and knowledge exchange around ethical AI, health system innovation, and impact evaluation.
