Role Overview

As a Communications & Media Generalist Intern at NAAMII, you will support communications, content creation, outreach, and strategic initiatives for the institute’s research and educational programs, including the Annual Nepal AI School (ANAIS). You will help draft and refine newsletters, announcements, research summaries, and website content, maintain media assets, and contribute to internal documentation

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, edit, and refine newsletters, announcements, research summaries, and website content, maintaining a credible and consistent organizational voice.
  • Maintain media and website content, including event pages, blogs, and program updates.
  • Research potential partners, speaking opportunities, venues, and emerging trends relevant to research, AI, and education outreach.
  • Apply AI and other emerging tools to improve workflow, content production, and engagement.
  • Support internal communications: documenting workflows, tracking projects, and maintaining clear records.
  • Collaborate with program teams to coordinate content, outreach, and educational initiatives.
  • Proactively suggest improvements to communications strategy, brand presentation, and content processes.
  • Balance creativity with strategic thinking to ensure messaging aligns with NAAMII’s mission and professional standards.

Who This Role Is For

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, independent, and reliable, able to take initiative and organize their own tasks without constant guidance. They are curious about research, technology, and education, and comfortable exploring new tools to improve content, engagement, and workflow efficiency.

The ideal candidate:

  • Has experience in content creation, writing, or editing, ideally for research, education, or tech-related projects.
  • Has organized events, programs, or workflows in school, college, or previous internships, and can coordinate multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Understands how research organizations and educational programs communicate, maintaining a professional and credible brand voice.
  • Is AI- and tech-literate, familiar with tools such as Claude, Google Gemini, Notebook LM, Canva, Figma, CMS platforms, social media schedulers, or n8n for workflow and content automation.
  • Is detail-oriented, strategic, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.
  • Can research trends, partners, and best practices, translating insights into actionable communications and outreach strategies.
